Re: Violation of workers and trade unions rights

Recently we learned of the struggle of our affiliate HMF with Schindler. First you try to force the workers the use of an app that has not been approved by the union, as agreed stipulated in the collective agreement. Those that didn’t followed your instruction are punished by withholding payment. When then the supervisors union expressed his solidarity against your actions the shop-steward is being dismissed. When HMF then out of solidarity organized a collective action, You again adds insult to injury and dismiss shop steward Alxander Jordnes and vice-president of HMF.

These are gross violations of the rights as are guaranteed under the convention 87 on the Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise and the convention 98 on the Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining that Norway has ratified and codified more than 65 years ago!

You will fail in you attempt to break the unity and brotherhood in HMF, because they know that an injury to one, is an injury to all and when justice is delayed justice is denied.

We have also contacted our affiliate UNIA in Switzerland and have asked them to demand action form the Swiss Headquarters that they intervene and take all measures to restore the social justice which is now hard to find in Norway.

We demand immediate undoing of these dismals and only then trust can be restored and a meaningful social dialogue restarted.

Sincerely,
Ambet Yuson
General Secretary
